Lacecap hydrangeas are deciduous shrubs with flat, lacy flowerheads: a centre of tiny flowers ringed by larger, showy ones. They come in blue, pink or white, flowering from midsummer into late summer.
They prefer part shade, some shelter and moist soil that drains well. Flower colour often depends on the soil, with acid soil giving blue and alkaline giving pink.
