Sedum, or stonecrop, is a succulent perennial with thick, fleshy leaves. Flat clusters of small starry flowers open in late summer, and they are a favourite with bees and butterflies.
It thrives in sunny spots where the soil drains quickly and copes well with drought. The faded flowerheads often stand well into winter.
